At the end of 8th grade year, I had no idea where I wanted to go to high school. Then, after figuring out that all my friends and cute boys where going to Ventura, I had my mind set on going there and even got my mom to let me go. But we decided to go to the Foothill thing one night for the heck of it, and it ended up brainwashing my mom to wanting me to go there. So she sent in an application and I got accepted! Now that my mom knew how good this school is, whether I wanted to come here or not, I didn't have a choice.
In the end of summer I knew I was going to foothill. Even if I didn't want to my mom was basically having me at gunpoint. The bright side of coming here was that my two best friends, Mozell and Jessie, were going here too, even though it was really sad that my other 3 best friends didn't get in. During summer I still really wanted to go to Ventura because it was a bigger school. But my mom made the decision for me so i can get into a good college. And I guess she did the right thing by forcing me.
I was not scared at all for the beginning of the school year.. I was actually pretty excited. On my first day I almost got lost but a lot of the older students noticed it and helped me out. I was a little worried if I wasn't going to be smart enough but I'm not worried anymore. I fortunately met a lot of amazing new people and even ran into some friends from pre-k and second grade.
Now being in school for 5 weeks I know my mom made the right choice. I met a lot of amazing people, a few being in this room, who I would love to become better friends with. Most of the teachers I have like Mr. Geib are really funny and less strict than I thought they would be. And the amount of homework I have so far isn't that bad either. Sometimes I still think that Ventura would be more fun but I don't regret coming here at all.
